The Perfect Question

Today I had one of those small victories in the classroom that is oh-so gratifying. In my literacy class, I introduced a paragraph-writing strategy a senior teacher showed me last week. My students, who are in my class specifically because they struggle with reading and writing, quickly understood and flourished with the new strategy. It was one of the best class sessions I have ever had. The crowning moment: a student who usually refuses to write asked me, "Can we please write more than three supporting details?"

ooh, ooh! please share the strategy! most of my sixth-graders wouldn't know a paragraph if it hit them on the head, so i'm looking for something good. yay! thanks in advance :D
