On Lunch

I'm eating my lunch in my classroom while some students are making up homework. Suddenly, one of the students starts singing "I've Got You, Babe." I turn around a little stunned, and he says, "What, Miss, you don't know that song?" I said, "Of course I know Sonny and Cher." The whole group starts laughing. Another kid says, "That's not Cher, that's Akon!" With a little online research, they find that the original song was written in 1965. They are shocked. One student says, "How you knew that, Miss? You were our age then?" I don't even bother to clarify that one. Sure, my mom was only 5 when that song was written, but sometimes it seems that, to my students at least, I must be about 100 years old.
